Is it really them? Check while you’re still on the call.

Voice cloning means a scammer can sound exactly like your son or daughter. Codeword is a free app that lets the person being called check with the real family member in one tap, before any money moves.

  1. 01 · Set up

    One of you invites the other

    Usually it’s the grown-up son or daughter. Tom installs Codeword, adds Mum, and sends her an invite link by text or WhatsApp.

    Mum taps the link, installs the app and accepts. There are no accounts to create and no codes to copy.

    An unknown number calls

    Her phone rings as normal. Codeword shows a calm alert on top of the call: if they say they’re family and need money, ask for the code word.

    It only appears for numbers that aren’t in her contacts, and it never blocks a call.

    One tap asks the real person

    If something feels wrong, Mum taps Check with Tom. Tom’s phone asks him straight away: Mum is on a call. Is it you?

    She doesn’t need to hang up, find his number or type anything.

    The answer, in seconds

    Tom taps Yes or No. Mum sees It’s really Tom, or It’s not Tom. Hang up now, in large, clear type on the screen she’s already looking at.

    Either way, she can call Tom back on his usual number with one more tap.

  • It never blocks a call

    Every call rings through as normal. Codeword adds a check; it never decides for you.

  • It never listens

    Codeword can’t hear, record or read your calls, contacts or messages. It only sees that an unknown number is calling.

  • Your code word stays with you

    You can keep your family code word in the app as a reminder. It stays on your phone and is never sent to us or backed up anywhere.
